Resort Spotlight: Secrets Puerto Los Cabos

Recently, CTC had the opportunity to go see firsthand the beautiful destination of Cabo San Lucas and we were able to stay at the stunning Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort. This AAA Four-Diamond resort is perfect for any traveller, whether you and your spouse want a nice, romantic getaway or you’re looking for a relaxing spa week with your girlfriends.

Whether you are simply curious as to what all this resort has to offer or want more information in regards to the giveaway, here are our thoughts on staying at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos!

Transportation

One of the best things about Secrets is they begin their luxury experience the moment you touch down in Cabo. Airport transportation is arranged for you, no matter the size of your group. With our group of 20+, we never felt crowded on the 30 minute drive to the resort.

The lemon-scented cold towels provided were a nice touch too!

About the Resort

Located in the exclusive community of Puerto Los Cabos along the Pacific coast, Secrets boasts stunning oceanfront views, gourmet restaurants, a World-Class spa, and is steps away from the Puerto Los Cabos Golf Course. There is also a lively pool with a swim-up bar, a beach bar & lounge, and a map that shows where all the romantic spots are! Though the resort is all-inclusive, guests can upgrade to the Preferred Club for an even higher level of luxury as well as exclusive access to several amenities.

The Rooms

With 500 luxurious rooms spread throughout eight buildings, the primary purpose of Secrets is to bring the gorgeous landscape of Los Cabos in. Each suite features a king-sized bed (or two double beds), a full bathroom with a whirlpool, a furnished balcony, and a fully stocked mini bar.

Suites not part of the Preferred Club include all of the amenities above and offer a range of views: Garden View, Swim-Out Garden View, Ocean View, or Swim-Out Ocean View. But do not let the lack of Preferred Club status fool you: these suites are spacious, elegant and are the epitome of luxury! We stayed in the Junior Suites with Ocean Views and loved it!

For those looking for a bit more space as well as some extra perks, the Preferred Club is the place to be. All Preferred Club suites offer spectacular Ocean Views, spacious living areas, grand balconies, and special concierge service. The Master Suites also contain a separate living room and whirlpools out on the terrace. Imagine relaxing in your private jacuzzi with a glass of wine as you watch the sunset over the ocean.

If ocean views aren’t enough and you prefer oceanfront, the Presidential Suites are at the peak of luxury. With a fully-stocked bar, walk-in closet, and a two-person whirlpool on the balcony, these suites are perfect for honeymooners looking for a romantic place to relax or for those celebrating a milestone anniversary and want to pull out all the stops.

Dining

 Secrets offers five à la carte gourmet restaurants, a buffet venue, a grill and a café, no reservations required. Enjoy a nice lunch by the pool at the Seaside Grill, a romantic dinner at the resort’s Italian restaurant Portofino, or take in the amazing ocean views while sampling the seafood at Oceana. Need a quick late-night bite? 24-hour dining options are available at the CoCo Cafe for guests to enjoy or, better yet, stay in and order from their diverse room service menu.

During our stay, we ate dinner at the resort’s traditional Mexican restaurant El Patio. They served us a variety of appetizers (including guacamole!!) and had a variety of entree options from seafood to chicken to steak. Needless to say, we were stuffed by the end of the night!

For breakfast, many of us ate at the Market Cafe which had a delicious breakfast buffet and an amazing pastry table. A few ordered room service and raved about it throughout our stay. The CoCo Cafe also served a variety of coffees and pastries for a lighter breakfast option.

As for cocktails, Secrets has four exceptional bars and lounges, including one exclusively for Preferred Club members. There is a bar for everyone here, whether you want a casual drink at the beach bar Barracuda, the swim-up bar Manatees, or opt for a pre-dinner martini at the swanky lobby bar Rendezvous.

The Pool + Beach

Because Cabo is located on the Baja Peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of California, the tide is very strong and not all beaches are swimmable. However, most swimmable beaches are just a short drive from the resort and it is a prime surfing spot for everyone, from beginners to experts. If you’ve ever considered picking up a board to catch a wave, this is the perfect place to do it!

The beach at Secrets in not considered swimmable, but it is an amazing spot to watch the sunset, take a romantic stroll, or grab a refreshing drink at the resort’s fun beach bar.

As for pools, Secrets has two stunning pools, including a giant infinity pool complete with a swim-up bar. With complimentary poolside service, fresh towels, and the occasional pool party, what more could you ask for?

Activities

Whether you are seeking a getaway to relax and unwind or are looking for an adventure, Secrets has plenty to choose from.

Head on over to neighboring Puerto Los Cabos Golf Course for a round of golf, go on a bike tour to the marina, work on your core in a pilates and yoga class, or enjoy a night of dazzling entertainment at one of the resort’s theme nights.

For a more laid back activity, opt for a salon or spa treatment at the world-class Secrets Spa by Pevonia®. Spanning nearly 13,000 ft., you can indulge yourself in a variety of massages, hair treatments, facials, and other indigenous treatments. You are sure to leave their spa relaxed and rejuvenated.

Overview

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, and we only wish we could have stayed longer. It is the perfect place for a nice, romantic getaway, a fun spa weekend with the girls, or just a leisurely escape from the cold weather.

Secrets offered top-notch service and delicious food all the while having some of the best sunrise ocean views and numerous activities. The staff was always friendly and accommodating, and there is no surprise as to why this resort has received numerous awards for its service.
